Choose Love

The grace and grandeur of this majestic corner of the world

Takes my chilled breath away, a sharp intake against the cold.

This mystical map reference of a place, so simple in it’s beauty,

Quietly, softly inspires some every day bravery.

Facing fears of the incoming, choppy tide, I dip my cramping toes in,

Follow the local , swimming capped, bobbing heads advice,

Hold on tight to the rusty rail, take a few reassuring breaths.

I hear them cheer as the sea besieges my body with life.

Surrender to the shocking instant, submit to the split second force.

Notice how every part of you feels in this formidable moment.

I could get used to this heady cocktail, a rage against the gathering storm.

As my unwelcome tremor subsides, I want this sensation to last forever.
