Ramblings of a Northern Girl — PD in Poetry 2024 — Week 17 — Blank Space
Trapped in this body. Lost and alone.
Feel like a traveller a long way from home.
Hope and perspective, a struggle today,
Lost in the fog, on this frightening way.
Dulled and defeated, my heart in retreat,
Feelings on pause, emotions asleep.
Who is this person? This face staring back?
An unwanted stranger, an alien attack.
Silently struggle, keep it at bay,
Not what you should do, the experts will say.
Where’s the beginning? I’m losing the race,
No vista to smile at, only blank space.
Trapped in this body. Lost and alone.
Feel like a traveller a long way from home.
