Ramblings of a Northern Girl — PD in Poetry 2024 — Week 9 — Waiting
Laid out in front of the frosty window,
An unwanted yet necessary feast of potions.
Your rigid, impatient body needing it’s fix
To start the day, achieve the most basic of mundane tasks.
The trickery of each tiny tablet
Stealing precious time, it’s a torturous waiting game.
Have patience, be present, stay mindful,
The delicate frost on the window is fading fast.
A familiar red Robin hops around the old apple tree,
Early morning sunlight reveals a precious new world.
Salute the moment as your painful detention subsides,
Take it all in, embrace your breath, it’s time, take a step.
